Ridgefield Coronavirus Update: 30 Deaths
Here are the latest, local updates on how the coronavirus outbreak is impacting Ridgefield.
RIDGEFIELD, CT — Health Director Ed Briggs has reported that the number of deaths attributed to the new coronavirus is now 30. All but three deaths are associated with nursing and assisted living facilities.
The Connecticut Department of Public Health has confirmed that 176 cases of the new coronavirus have been reported in Ridgefield as of Monday.
The Office of Emergency Management announced Monday that it expects to receive surgical masks from the State to be distributed to workers in essential town businesses (two per employee) in the next week. There will be additional information regarding distribution later this week, according to the OEM.
Connecticut continues to see a decline in the net number of hospitalizations. The state is likely seven to 10 days away from an announcement about certain businesses that can be reopened in a limited capacity. There was a drop of eight net hospitalization cases Monday. Another 88 people died, which brings the state's total to 2,012.
