Ridgefield Family Loses Home In Weekend Fire: Reports

The nonprofit Angel of Ridgefield​ is collecting gift cards for the family.

RIDGEFIELD, CT —A Ridgefield family lost their house in a fire over the weekend, The Ridgefield Press reported.

The Ridgefield Fire Department and a number of fire departments from the surrounding area worked for several hours to put out the fire on Lounsbury Lane, Chief Jerry Myers told the Ridgefield Press.

Crews had to use tanker trucks to ferry water from a remote site, as there was nota water source nearby, according to the report.

The fire department had to contend with additional "hotspots" that firefighters found on Saturday, the firefighters' union said.
