RIDGEFIELD, CT -- Kevin Tappe, Ridgefield's fire chief for the past two and a half years, has resigned following an investigation into unspecified "policy violations," reports The News Times.

Tappe, who has been on administrative leave since Dec. 22, resigned Wednesday night during a meeting of the Board of Selectmen, who immediately accepted his resignation, according to the publication.

Both the Board of Fire Commissioners and selectmen held meetings Wednesday to discuss possible "disciplinary action" against Tappe.
