Ridgefield Selectman Steve Zemo Seeks to Develop 'Workforce Housing' Complex: Report

The plan is for several second-story apartments in a mixed-use development on Old Quarry Road in Ridgefield.

RIDGEFIELD, CT — Steve Zemo, a Ridgefield developer and member of the Board of Selectmen, is proposing to build a storage unit facility with upstairs apartments on a parcel he owns at the former Schlumberger property on Old Quarry Road, reports the Ridgefield Press.

Called Old Quarry Commons, the proposal calls for eight second-floor apartments and 28 storage units on the first floor, and it is scaled down from a previous plan.

The apartments would be considered "workforce housing," rent for about $2,000 per month and would not fall under the state's controversial 8-30g affordable housing regulations, according to the publication.
