Ridgefield's CHIRP Concert Series: Blues Singer Marcia Ball
Ball is often billed as the "Queen of Swamp Rock and Boogie-Woogie Blues."

RIDGEFIELD, CT -- Concert Happenings in Ridgefield's Parks, or CHIRP, continues its eclectic summer schedule on Tuesday, June 5, with Grammy-nominated pianist and blues singer Marcia Ball at Ballard Park.
The Texas-born and Louisiana-raised Ball is often billed as the "Queen of Swamp Rock and Boogie-Woogie Blues." Her albums Presumed Innocent (2002) and So Many Rivers (2004) were named "Contemporary Blues Album of the Year" for their year by the Blues Music Awards. Ball won the BMA for "Contemporary Blues Artist of the Year-Female" in 2004, and "Best Blues Instrumentalist-Keyboards" in 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2009. The BMA for Keyboards has since been renamed the Pinetop Perkins Piano Player Award and Ball won that in 2012 and 2015. Her album So Many Rivers was nominated for a Grammy as were Live! Down The Road (2005) and Peace, Love & BBQ (2008).
The concert is free, and begins at 7:00 p.m. in Ballard Park, located at 485 Main Street (corner of Main and Gilbert St) in Ridgefield.
