Ridgefield's Meals on Wheels Awarded Grant from People's United Community Foundation
Meals on Wheels of Ridgefield recently received a grant of $2,500 from the People's United Community Foundation .

RIDGEFIELD, CT-- The People’s United Community Foundation recently awarded 17 nonprofit organizations more than $147,000, according to The Fairifeld Sun.
Recipients include Meals on Wheels in Ridgefield, Literacy Volunteers of Danbury, Operation Hope of Fairfield, Open Door Shelter in Norwalk, Domestic Violence Crisis Center and Neighbors Link in Stamford, Emerge in Stratford, Horizons at Greens Farms Academy and more.
For the first grant cycle of 2016, People's United Community Foundation awarded $937,959 to 130 nonprofit organizations in the communities served. For a full list of organizations that People’s United Community Foundation donated to, click here.

According to their website, the mission of People’s United Community Foundation is to "invest in programs and services that enhance the quality of life for residents, promote the economic development and well-being of neighborhoods and support the educational and developmental needs of children and youth, with special emphasis given to programs and services in low-income areas."
