As a strong believer in second amendment rights and a gun owner, I believe in sensible gun laws to help provide a safe environment. I am writing to express my strong support for State Senator Julie Kushner. She has consistently demonstrated her commitment to reducing crime and gun violence by standing with law enforcement and taking meaningful legislative action. At a time when public safety is of the utmost importance, Senator Kushner has championed critical reforms that help keep our communities safe.
One of her key positions has been supporting the ban on guns at polling locations. As you know during Reconstruction, intimidation tactics were used to discourage and prevent Blacks from voting. In a democracy, every citizen should feel safe when exercising their right to vote, and Senator Kushner’s efforts ensure that we can cast our ballots without fear of intimidation or violence.
Additionally, her work to close the ghost gun loophole and strengthen laws that keep firearms out of the hands of criminals, domestic abusers, and those who are a danger to themselves or others is another example of her dedication to protecting the public. These measures help prevent tragedies before they happen and support the hard work of our law enforcement officers, who are on the front lines of keeping our neighborhoods safe.
Senator Kushner’s leadership on these issues is not only admirable but essential. She has proven that she can deliver results that protect our families, and for that, she deserves our continued support.
