Trumbull Mall To Ban Minors Without Adults On Saturday Nights
The Trumbull Mall will prohibit anyone under the age of 17 from entering the premises on Saturday evenings unless accompanied by an adult.
TRUMBULL, CT — The Trumbull Mall will be instating a curfew prohibiting anyone under the age of 17 from entering the premises on Saturday evenings unless they are accompanied by an adult.
The new rule goes into effect August 5.
The policy came about following several meetings involving Trumbull Mall management, the First Selectman’s Office, and the Trumbull Police Department, according to a statement released by First Selectman Vicki Tesoro on July 24.

The Saturday curfew will be in effect at the mall Saturdays from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. closing, and requires all patrons under the age of 17 to be accompanied by a parent or supervising adult over the age of 21 while inside the mall premises. The supervising adult should be prepared to show proof of age via a valid form of identification, such as state, military, or school-issued IDs, according to a statement issued by mall management:
"This curfew policy has been established in response to feedback from community members and tenants and aims to promote a family-friendly atmosphere for all visitors. Our goal with this new protocol is to maintain a consistent standard of safety and security throughout the mall at all hours. Other guidelines include:

- One 21+ adult may accompany up to four youths, excluding children 10 and under.
- All accompanied youths must remain with the supervising adult.
- Supervising adults are responsible for the actions of the youth they accompany.
- Those lacking proper identification or proof of age may be asked to leave the property."
A similar policy went into effect at the Connecticut Post Mall in nearby Milford in March.
