I have been a 51 year resident of Ridgefield and have seen many candidates for office come and go, in both parties. This upcoming election sees two outstanding candidates, namely Colette Kabasakalian and Michelle Coehelo.

Colette, as a local successful realtor, knows how to negotiate between differing parties so that all concerned feel satisfied. But she will never negotiate away your fundamental right to your private property or to voice an opinion, both of which are under attack in today’s world. Intelligent, strong, yet caring for others, Colette will be an asset in the state legislature.

Michelle is a sweet, lovely woman whose family escaped Communist Cuba, giving her a deep understanding of what living under a totalitarian regime means. She knows that freedom is precious but easily lost when citizens fall for glorious words that are empty power grabs. Elected to Danbury’s Board of Education, Michelle has shown that she values a solid educational foundation for today’s children, as well as respect for parents who know best what is right for their children.
