Women’s Health Care Goes Beyond Reproductive Rights.
Aimee Berger-Girvalo Protects Women's Healthcare That's why we need to reelect her as our State Representative
We’ve all read the horror stories resulting from the overturning of Roe v. Wade. Women are bleeding out in emergency rooms or forced to travel hundreds of miles to access life-saving care.
In states with ultra-restrictive laws, women hesitate calling their doctors for basic guidance when they experience an early-term miscarriage for fear of reprisal.
By restricting access to desperately needed health care, MAGA Republicans’ barbaric laws are putting women’s lives at risk.
“I live in a Blue State so I’m safe?” some ask.
Women of all generations need to know that women’s health goes beyond reproductive health.
According to AAMC, the field of obstetrics-gynecology was already experiencing worrisome shortages. Since Dobbs more residents are considering other fields.
Nearly 7 million women live in “OB-GYN deserts,” where there’s limited or no access to maternity care resources, no hospitals or birth centers offering obstetric care.
Physicians without adequate training may not be able to manage miscarriages, ectopic pregnancies or potential complications such as infection, sepsis or hemorrhaging from pregnancy loss.
With fewer specialists nationally – and even here in Connecticut - who will treat conditions like Endometriosis or Hysterectomies? Who will provide routine mammograms, pap smears, pelvic exams, vaginal infections, fertility, menopause management, reliable birth control and ovarian masses?
We must elect strong health care advocates like State Representative Aimee Berger-Girvalo. I’ve heard Aimee speak countless times about women’s health care and have always been blown away by her passion and compassion. She is recognized statewide and nationally and has led passage of the strongest reproductive rights protections in the country.
State Representative Berger-Girvalo will continue to fight for our reproductive freedoms and will expand our access to healthcare. We need Aimee along with Democrat majorities to protect our rights. Please join me in reelecting Aimee on November 5th.
