• Connecticut inspector suspended after interactions tied to funeral home owner accused of $1M theft (nhregister.com) — A state health inspector was suspended for a month over undisclosed misconduct tied to a Vernon funeral home once owned by Philip Pietras, who's accused of stealing over $1 million in prepaid funeral funds. Pietras now faces about 45 criminal cases in state Superior Court in Rockville and is expected to plead guilty later this month under a negotiated deal.
