7 is Lucky Three Times Over in Sept. 18 Lottery Drawing

Drawing the same three numbers has been a trend in CT Lottery games this month.

ROCKY HILL, CT – The combination 7-7-7 was drawn in the Sept. 18 Play3 Day game in the Connecticut Lottery.

A total of 2,650 winning wagers were sold for the Play3 Day drawing on Tuesday. After all winning claims are presented, a total of $1,060,425 in prize money will be paid out by the CT Lottery, officiaks said.

The number 7-7-7 has been drawn a total of four times since the Play3 Day game began. It was last picked during the day on Dec. 17, 2011, when it paid out $1,211,900 in prize money on 3,052 winning wagers.

So far, September has been quite the month for those who enjoy playing the same single-digit number in sequence.

Play3 Night (Sept. 1)

  • Winning Number: 9-9-9
  • Prize Payouts: $912,100

Play3 Day (Sept. 2)

  • Winning Number: 9-9-9
  • Prize Payouts: $649,900

Play3 Night (Sept. 9)

  • Winning Number: 0-0-0
  • Prize Payouts: $513,075

Play3 Day (Sept. 18)

  • Winning Number: 7-7-7
  • Prize Payouts: $1,060,425

Because Play3 Day prize payouts are based upon the amount wagered, players with a winning number match can expect to win from $25 up to $2,500 per wager in prize money.

There are 1,000 possible number combinations in the Play3 Day game, using the digits zero through 9, officials said. Because each ball number has the same odds of being drawn (1 in 10), the chance of having the same single-digit number drawn in sequence is the same as any other number combination.

Players with winning tickets have 180 calendar days from the date of draw to collect their winnings. High-Tier Claim Centers are able to cash CT Lottery prizes up to $5,000.
