HARTFORD -- Many locals know that Aetna Ambulance Service, based in Hartford and serving Rocky Hill, has been in business since 1945. When you think about it, it is quite staggering in and of itself but it is especially unique in the context that it was started by two African American brothers in 1945. The two brother's wives who were also sisters ran the company until 2004 in one capacity or another and passed away within days of one another in 2008.
