Asian Bistro Holds Grand Opening Ceremony

A sushi roll was cut to signify the opening of the restaurant.

A sushi roll helped open the during a ceremony Monday evening.

The restaurant specializes in steaks, hibachi, Asian fusion and sushi. The also has a and offers happy hour Monday through Friday from 4:30-6:30 p.m.

"I feel excited about doing business in Rocky Hill," Ivan Zhang, the owner of Asian Bistro, said.

Zhang said he wanted the to be a "welcoming" place for residents of Rocky Hill and a "destination" location for hobby groups and business functions.

"It's upscale dinning at a moderate price," Danny Chen, the new eatery's manager previously said.

Rep. Tony Guerrera and Mayor Anthony LaRosa were on hand to cut the ceremonial "ribbon," which was a very long sushi roll.

Guerrera said the opening of the Asian Bistro showed even in this down economy, "people are willing to take risks in good communities" and Rocky Hill is one of those communities. 

"What a great place this is," Guerrera told town officials, business owners and members of the public who attended the grand opening ceremony. He also provided the owners with a citation from the state of Connecticut.

Zhang said the sushi roll creates a "special image" in people's minds that they will remember for a long time.

"This is a fabolous place," Rocky Hill Chamber of Commerce President Ric Valliere, who has already dined at the Asian Bistro, said.

The restaurant's hours of operation are 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., Monday through Thursday, 11:30 a.m. to 11 p.m., Friday and Saturday and noon to 10 p.m. on Sunday.
