Food and Fun at The Lodge

A yo-yo whiz stops by to show off his tricks and Chef Nick makes pizza!

When the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie, that’s amore. Residents at The Lodge at Cold Spring definitely did love the Pizza Cooking Demo put on by Executive Chef Nick Mastracchio on Tuesday. Chef Nick shared stories with the residents about his childhood memories of going to get pizza with his family, and what styles of pizza he preferred and doesn’t prefer.

Then, he dazzled residents as he made two pies right before their eyes. He kneaded the dough and spun it, and then poured the sauce and sprinkled cheese on top. Residents were so happy with how it turned out that many of them ask for seconds during supper time!

If you think that was a nice treat, Lodge residents were also treated to another demonstration this past Saturday. Eric Girardi of Bending Gravity Entertainment stopped by last Saturday to show off his Yo-Yo tricks to residents and guests. In addition to being a top-ranked yo-yo guru, Eric also dabbles in knife juggling, stilt walking, and fire breathing. Later this summer, Eric will return to The Lodge to give a fire-breathing performance. Be sure to check out the pictures from these summer kick-off events!
