Here Comes the Bride...

The Lodge at Cold Spring's Events Coordinator celebrates getting married with all her friends at The Lodge!

Who says you can’t have fun at work? For The Lodge at Cold Spring events director Margie Girardi, this past Wednesday was anything but a long day at the office. Recently married to Billy Telech, Margie was a bit upset that her friends from The Lodge couldn’t attend the wedding and the reception that followed. So, she decided to bring the reception to them.

It was truly a team effort to make the event happen. Maintenance person Jim Denman prepared a removable dance floor in the dining room. A delicious wedding cake was prepared from scratch and served by chefs Nick Mastracchio and Horst Zerber. Ron Casasanta, the community bus driver, is also a musician and entertainer. He brought his equipment and played songs for everyone. In-house beauty salon owner Anita Hatje even did the bride’s hair.

All the teamwork and effort paid off. Margie, along with her husband, couldn’t help but smile and laugh the entire time. The residents responded as well. Many of them sang along to the songs Ron played, and a few even got up to dance with the bride and groom. All in all, it was a day that felt less like work, and more like a party. Why can’t every day at work be like this?
