Loving-Kindness

Happy Valentine's Day! Offer someone some love today!

May you be happy, may you be well, may you be safe, may you be peaceful and at ease.

This ancient practice begins with cultivating loving-kindness towards oneself, then moves on to loved ones, friends, neighbors, enemies, strangers, then finally towards everyone.

This powerful form of meditation brings harmony to relationships with others, helping to resolve conflicts or difficulties and helps strengthen our connections to others for healthier relationships. This age-old meditation practice helps us become more accepting and appreciative of others, we become kinder, giving us the power for forgiveness.

Try it, take a seat, lengthen up through the spine, softly close your eyes and find your breath.

Here's how this goes:

Say to yourself a few times: May I be happy, may I be well, may I be safe, may I be peaceful and at ease.

Then bring to mind a friend or loved and repeat the phrase again to yourself: May you be happy, may you be well, may you be safe, may you be peaceful and at ease.

As you continue with this meditation, bring to mind others, wishing them the same, such as neighbors, acquaintances, strangers and to others whom you may have unsettling relationships with.

When you are done wishing everyone well, notice, bring awareness to how you feel, enjoy the magic of this powerful meditation!
