Motivation

Just some motivation tactics and strategies that will assist you in leading a healthy lifestyle.

Motivation seems to be the biggest problem with people in determining whether or not they go to the gym, go out for a run, or eat healthy. I’m not going to ramble on about all different kind of tactics that can help people get motivated and lead a healthy life. I’m just going to give you a couple of things to think about when you wake up in the morning.

 

After talking with many of my clients about what seems to motivate them and what I do specifically that helps motivate them, I’ve come up with a list of top motivation tactics and strategies to assist you.

The most important thing to think about is your friends and family. Do you want to be around to see your grandchildren graduate from high school? College? Be at their wedding? Living a healthy lifestyle certainly increases your chances of living a long life drastically.

Right when you wake up in the morning or when you get home from work, you tend to be a bit tired. All you want to do is turn on the T.V. or maybe crack open a cold one. Whenever I’m tired and find it difficult to get motivated to go to the gym, I turn on the cold water in the kitchen sink and splash my face to “wake up”. Then I’ll turn on one of my favorite songs and listen to it. After that I’m all ready to exercise and hit the gym.

 

Another motivation tactic my clients say helps them, is exercising and following a healthy meal plan with a friend or family member. It’s easier to eat healthy and exercise when your doing it with someone else. Going to the gym with someone and exercising with them certainly will motivate you. The National Strength and Conditioning Association did a study and found that workouts are 67% more successful when you complete them with someone. Your mind will automatically shift into third gear and want to impress the person you are exercising with. This will mentally push your body through any type of exercise and obstacle in front of you.

 

I listed a few motivation techniques that will assist you lead a healthy lifestyle. However, no matter what, the only person or thing that is stopping you from reaching your goal, is you.
