How do you start your day? Hopefully with a nourishing breakfast!

No gourmet skills required, I am sure my husband couldn't agree more! This is a three-part series, first highlighting a healthy breakfast, then moving onto lunch and dinner utilizing minimal gourmet skills.
Taking a blog break from exercise and blogging about my other passion, food. Yes, you read right, I love to eat. I take great pleasure in enjoying a fabulous meal with family and friends. Ok, so no surprise here, you knew the word healthy was coming! I've learned that healthy never tasted so good! Growing up, I used to overdose on Devil Dogs! Remember Devil Dogs? I wonder if they are still on the market? Anyway, the more mindful I've become, I appreciate less is really more. I wanted to share my healthy and nutritious oatmeal breakfast “recipe” that I faithfully start my day with to fuel my body, mind and spirit. Not that I am boring, but I am a creature of habit and happen to really appreciate what my powerful oatmeal breakfast does for me!

Did you know that eating a healthy breakfast one hour upon waking would keep your metabolism revved up all day? Who couldn't use that? I'll take it. Not too mention, oatmeal, oh, by the way, I am not referring to genetically modified oatmeal, but more organic, natural oatmeal such as steel cut oats. An effective way to regulate blood sugar levels, lower cholesterol levels and add more fiber to your “diet” (I'll use diet here for lack of a better word).
Ok, so here is my quick and easy healthy oatmeal, no gourmet skills required! Many of these ideas were share around "yoga mat talk" as many yogi's share the love of healthy food.
