The Tribe Has Spoken!
Weight loss, reduced body fat, more strength and more muscle mass received with strength training!

Weight loss, reduced body fat, improved strength and more muscle mass were the most popular responses received from participants when asked for their feedback of benefits they received as a result of the Strength Training Program(held twice weekly) at the Town of Rocky Hill (Parks & Rec).
Below is a list of additional benefits participants were so happy to share as a result of their functional strength training workout:
- increased energy and stamina
- upper arm toning (fewer jiggles)
- toning and reduction of rubber tube around waist
- stronger core
- better posture
- improved mental health
- felt stronger all over
- developed upper body strength
- lost inches
- definition in the arms
- overall increased strength gains (especially upper body)
- improved balance
- total body reshaping (only strength reshapes the body, not cardio!)
Comments
- realized the overall importance of training the whole body (i.e., shoulder, chest, back, bicep, triceps, core, low-body)
- supportive environment that is fostered in the classes
- enjoy the variety of exercises, never knowing what they are in for when they walk in, enjoy the surprise element
- like the many options and modifications for specific joint/muscle issues
- stretching following the workout, many participants lacked in their own workout

See for yourself, check out the numerous key benefits imperative in helping you to lead a healthier lifestyle:
- Boosts metabolism (which means burning more calories when at rest) with reduced body fat (my favorite!)
- Improves balance and stability to help prevent falls (we lose balance as we age, the only way to get balance back is by training balance)
- Lowers risk of cardiovascular disease
- Reduces high blood pressure
- Reduces risk of diabetes
- Reduces stress and anxiety
- Decreases colds and illness
- Lowers risk of breast cancer - reduces high estrogen levels linked to the disease
- Decreases or minimizes risk of osteoporosis by building bone mass(we lose bone mass as we age, the only way to preserve it is through strength training)
- Increases muscle strength and endurance (regular daily activities become easier with less effort)
- Facilitates weight loss and weight management maintenance
I hope you found this blog helpful and if you do not have a regular strength routine, I hope you would consider adding to your workout plan. If you already have one, please feel free to comment and share the benefits you have received!
