Death of Bald Eagle in Rocky Hill Being Investigated

The Connecticut DEEP received a report of a dead bird on Monday.

The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection is investigating the death of a bald eagle in Rocky Hill, NBC Connecticut reports.

According to the news channel, DEEP received a report of a dead eagle that appeared to have been hit by a car along Great Meadows Road at around 10 a.m. on Dec. 13.

The bird is with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, who will determine the cause of death, NBC reports. If the cause of death is deemed to be something other than the crash, the agency will conduct a more detailed investigation.
