Moldy Baseball, Softball Gloves Recalled

The gloves were sold at Wal-Mart and Target.

Approximately 131,000 baseball gloves are being recalled after a variety of molds were found on them.

About 131,000 Mizuno USA Inc baseball and softball gloves are being recalled, announced the Department of Consumer Protection. Themolds could “cause respiratory or other infections in individuals with chronic health problems, or in individuals who have impaired immune systems” said the department.

The gloves were sold at Wal-Mart and Target stores nationwide from April 2010 through May for between $24 and $60.

The department urges consumers should stop using the gloves immediately and contact Mizuno USA to receive a refund. For additional information, contact Mizuno USA Inc. at (800) 451-7913 between 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday-Friday.
