New Boutique Opens in Rocky Hill

A ribbon cutting ceremony was held for One of A Kind Accessories and Boutique Wednesday afternoon.

 

Michele Barbieri has always wanted to open her own boutique.

"It's always been the family business," she said. Her mother owned and operated two "hip-hop stores" in Hartford for over 29 years. Barbieri recently took over the stores and has someone run them so she could focus on her new shop.

Wednesday morning, the hosted a ribbon cutting for the town's newest store, .

"We had a successful ribbon cutting ceremony today that was very well attended," said Rocky Hill Chamber of Commerce and past president . "We are doing what the Rocky Hill Chamber does best and that is drive commerce."

Mayor Anthony LaRosa attended the ceremony along with several town officials, chamber directors and invited guests.

sells everything from furniture to jewelry to clothing. However, they specialize in accessories.

"Accessories is the main, main thing," Barbieri said. "We kinda have a little bit of everything."

She is telling Rocky Hill residents to avoid the long trips to the mall and stop by One of A Kind Accessories and Boutique for all their fashion needs.

"Instead of going all the way to the mall, you can come here for something for the day or the night," Barbieri exclaimed.

Barbieri said she has competitive prices and will feature a table outside with items such as socks, change purses and bracelets for $1.50 each or five for $5.

"There are price ranges for everybody," she stated. "You can get everything in one shot at a reasonable price."

The grand opening ceremony for the store will be held on Saturday and the public is invited to the event.

One of A Kind Accessories and Boutique is open Monday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and is closed on Sundays. For more information about the boutique, call 860-372-4481.
