President Celebrates One Year at Nutmeg State Federal Credit Union
Holt credited with making several changes to the credit union over his short tenure.

John Holt celebrated his one year anniversary as President and CEO with the Tuesday.
Holt is credited with bringing several changes and advances to the credit union. Here is a list of some of his first year achievements.
- Introduced an iPhone, Blackberry and Android App
- Implemented an ID Theft Program that has helped numerous members recover their identity
- Introduced an Indirect Lending program in order to be able to offer the credit union’s great auto loan rates to those who don’t currently have a membership
- Implemented a program that enables individuals to save up to 1% on the refinance of their current auto loan
- Introduced More-Than-Free-Checking that offers cash back rewards and ATM fee rebates
- Introduced Online Account Opening so that members and potential members can open any type of account online, day or night, and fund the account
- Expanding the branch network to include the first ever credit union grocery store branch in Connecticut at the Newington Price Chopper
- Relocated the New Britain branch to make it easier for members access the credit union
- Renovated the Manchester branch and remodeled the Rocky Hill office in order to increase visibility and provide easier accessibility to current and potential members
- Added four new ATMs inside local Price Chopper stores in Newington, Middletown, Torrington and Windsor
- Developed a Gen Y committee in order to better serve the needs of this younger demographic
- Developed and implemented a plan to better serve the Hispanic population by introducing a Spanish Web site and creating demographic specific marketing materials and advertisements
- Implemented a Call Center to better serve our members needs
- Introduced Text Message and e-Mail Alerts
- Implemented “relationship pricing” giving staff the flexibility to offer special pricing based on the nature of the relationship
“John has brought the credit union to another level within the financial marketplace,” Mike Petti, Chairman of the Board of Directors said in a press release. “By taking the time to understand what people seek in a financial institution, and then adhering to those needs, he has helped make the credit union more attractive for new and prospective members.”

“We’ve enhanced our relationships with our members and going into 2012 and beyond, we’re positioned to have even greater success than we’ve ever had," Holt said in a press release.
