Raymond Mojesky, devoted husband of 64 years to Margaret (Colton) Mojesky, passed away suddenly on August 22, 2016, at Apple Rehab, Rocky Hill after a two month-long illness.
He was born in Southbridge, MA February 13 1927, the son of Henry and Philomina (Muszynski) Mojesky.
Raymond served in the US Navy during World War II and later received an architecture degree from Georgia Tech in 1955. He became an established architect, who designed many unique buildings: schools, campuses, shopping malls, housing and business-related, including the iconic, glass Phoenix Mutual “Boat Building” of Hartford. His architectural career eventually took him to United Technologies where he was the chief architect on projects across the United States. He retired from UT after 25 years of service, and always enjoyed the Christmas get-together functions with many of his old co-workers that he attending up to last year.
He was an accomplished violinist, and played for the Hartford Symphony when he was younger. Raymond was also an avid musical composer, and recorded several songs over the years, including “Christmas is for lovers” in 1969. He held lifelong interests in music, art, architecture, finance, and boating, and mushrooming and was considered a local expert in edible mushrooms by the mycology club of Connecticut. He will be missed by all who knew him over the years.
