Terriers Stomp Eagles, 16-1
Katie Slavin and Emily Thompson lead the way for the Rocky Hill High School girls' softball team in its win Monday afternoon.
The bats were red hot for the girls' softball team Monday afternoon as they crushed in their home opener, 16-1.
"Our bats stayed hot and we cruised to a 16-1 win in 5 innings," said head coach Jim Ferris, who is filling in for Gil Gioia, who is out on medical leave.

The Terriers' bats were lead by Katie Slavin, who was 3 for 4 with two doubles and five RBIs. Emily Thompson was also 3 for 4 with three RBIs and currently leads the team with a .667 batting average.
On the mound, Megan Ruonavaara and Slavin combined for nine strikeouts.

The Terriers will have its conference opening game with rival Bloomfield at Bloomfield High School today at 3:45 p.m. However, Ferris said the "big test" will be on Monday against at Southington High School at 3:45 p.m.
