The Second Chance Performs at a Hoedown This Weekend
Concert will benefit the High Hopes horse riding center.

The local band, The Second Chance, will perform at a benefit concert to support the High Hopes therapeutic riding center this weekend.
Kevin Hogan of WFSB will host the High Hopes Hoedown and Holiday Market in Old Lyme on Sunday at 1 p.m. The Second Chance is expected to kickoff the hoedown.
High Hopes is a therapeutic horse riding center that helps people with physical, emotional and developmental disabilities, according to their website.

The Second Chance is a classic rock and blues band formed in June of 2009, according to band member Maryanne A. Lauria. Many of the band members are parents of children in the Rocky Hill High School Music Department, she added.
The band has performed at benefit concerts for the Special Olympics and the Rocky Hill High School Project Graduation.

The High Hopes Hoedown and Holiday Market are free to the public, but people are asked to bring a non-perishable food item for the Shoreline Soup Kitchens.

On June 5, The Second Chance participated in the sixth Annual Walk Now for Autism Speaks at Rentschler Field. The band received a certificate of appreciation on Oct. 20 and will perform at next year's event.
