2 Arrested On Robbery Charges After Fight In Shelton Parking Lot: PD

SHELTON, CT — Two people were arrested on robbery and other charges following a fight at a parking lot in town Monday evening, according to police.

In a news release posted to Facebook, Police Detective Christopher Nugent said the fight broke out around 5:30 p.m. in the municipal parking lot on Howe Avenue. Officers were called to the parking lot, however the people involved in the fight fled the area before police arrived.

A short time later, a man came to the police department to report he had been robbed at gunpoint in downtown Shelton. The man said he was able to fight off three people and get the license plate of the vehicle they were driving, according to police.

After the vehicle's information was shared with police departments in the area, the Bridgeport Police Department Auto Theft Task Force located it in Bridgeport.

Police stopped the vehicle and identified its occupants as Ashan Langston, 22, of Bridgeport, and Jalen Bolton, 23, of Waterbury. The man then identified Langston and Bolton as two of the people who had robbed him in Shelton, according to police.

Bolton and Langston were both charged with first-degree robbery, third-degree larceny and conspiracy in relation to both charges. Bolton was also charged with possession of narcotics with intent to sell.

They were both held on a $100,000 bond and transported to Derby Superior Court on Tuesday, according to police.
