Police ID Body Of Deceased Man Found In Shelton: UPDATE

Police said the man was discovered in a wooded area on Saturday.

SHELTON, CT — Police said that the body of a deceased man found in a wooded area Saturday was that of missing Shelton resident Jason Mastroianni, 43, reported News 12. There does not appear to be signs of foul play.

Police and detectives had been following leads in the recent missing person case, which led to police coordinating a search on Saturday.

Resources in search and rescue assisted with dogs, police said. Echo House Ambulance and the Shelton Fire Department helped in the searching efforts as well, police said.

Mastroianni had been reported missing since Jan. 28, and his body was located in a wooded area.

The investigation is ongoing, but at this point there appears to be no signs of foul play, police said.
