Coach Bus Catches Fire On Route 8 In Shelton, Driver Escapes Injury
The incident occurred Monday night between exits 14 and 13, according to Shelton fire officials.
SHELTON, CT — The driver of a coach bus avoided injury Monday night, after the bus caught fire on Route 8 southbound in Shelton, according to fire officials.
The fire occurred at about 6:30 p.m. between Exits 14 and 13, and by the time firefighters arrived, the bus was burning heavily.
"[Twenty] Firefighters worked for approximately 35 minutes to bring the fire under control," authorities wrote on Facebook. "The bus was unoccupied other than the operator, and he escaped unharmed."

Two firefighters required treatment at the scene for "minor heat related issues," but were cleared to return to service quickly by emergency medical staff.
Route 8 was closed while firefighters battled the fire, the cause of which remains under investigation.
