DERBY, CT — Greg Cerritelli, the attorney for accused embezzler Ronald Culmo, told the New Haven Register that his client will plead not guilty to stealing nearly $100,000 from the Adriatic Marchegain Club, where Culmo once served as secretary treasurer.

Culmo was arrested last month on a charge of first-degree larceny, accused of taking the money over a five-year period from 2015 to 2020 to cover gambling and other debts.

He appeared in court Thursday, where his case was continued to April 7. Cerritelli has not commented on the specifics of the case, because he is awaiting discovery evidence.
