Derby Now Using CodeRED Notification System

Town Clerk Marc Garofalo said residents, business owners and other interested parties may opt in or out of participating with the system.

DERBY, CT — Derby has started using the CodeRED notification system, which notifies residents of emergency situations and offers general notifications, according to city officials.

In a Facebook post Thursday, Town Clerk Marc Garofalo said residents, business owners and other interested parties may opt in or out of participating with the system.

Those who wish to sign up can do so here or text DERBYALERT to 99411 to receive a direct link to the enrollment form on a mobile device.

Anyone who wants to opt out of the system can email fpepe@DerbyCT.gov, provide their phone number and ask to be removed, Garofalo said.

According to Garofalo, the CodeRed mobile app is available for download from the App Store for Apple users and Google Play for Android users.

Recipients of CodeRed notifications will recognize the CodeRED call when their caller ID displays the following numbers: 866−419−5000 for emergency notifications or 855−969−4636 for general notifications.
