Derby-Shelton Rotary Invites Community to Flags for Heroes Ceremony on June 13

Derby & Shelton, CT – The Derby-Shelton Rotary Club invites the public to attend the annual Flags for Heroes Ceremony on Saturday, June 13, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Park, Canal Street, Shelton, Connecticut.

This inspiring community event honors the men and women who have made a difference in our lives and our nation. More than 330 American flags are proudly displayed at Veterans Memorial Park in Shelton and the Derby Green, with each flag dedicated to a hero—including veterans, active-duty military personnel, first responders, healthcare workers, teachers, coaches, community leaders, family members, and loved ones.

The ceremony serves as a powerful reminder of the sacrifices, service, and contributions made by those who have touched our lives and strengthened our communities.

This year's display features 330 Flags for Heroes, including 216 flags in Shelton and 114 flags in Derby, creating a stunning visual tribute visible throughout the Valley.

"We are proud to bring the community together to recognize and celebrate the heroes among us," said Derby-Shelton Rotary representatives. "Flags for Heroes provides a meaningful opportunity for residents to honor those who serve, inspire, protect, and lead by example."
