DUI Arrest for Monroe Man Who Sideswiped 5 Parked Cars in Shelton: Police

The crash occurred Thursday night on Howe Avenue, and the suspect led police on a foot chase before being caught.

SHELTON, CT — A 21-year-old Monroe man allegedly sideswiped five parked cars Thursday night on Howe Avenue in Shelton, and then led police on a foot chase before getting caught.

The incident occurred at about 9:15 p.m. when police received several 911 calls of a six-vehicle accident in the area of 550 Howe Ave. "Upon officer’s arrival they discovered a Honda Accord sideswiped five vehicles parked in the southbound lane," police wrote in a statement.

The passenger in the Honda told officers that her boyfriend, Raymond Pizarro of Monroe, was driving the vehicle, and that he immediately fled on foot after the crash.

"Officers canvassed the area and spotted Pizarro running into a wooded area nearby," police said. "Officers gave chase and caught Pizarro in the woods."

He was released after posting a $2,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Derby Superior Court on Nov. 17.
