Fallen Tree Leads To Power Issues, Early School Dismissal In Derby: FD

DERBY, CT — A fallen tree led to power issues Thursday afternoon, as well as the early dismissal of Derby High School and Derby Middle School, according to fire officials.

In a Facebook post, fire officials said the fallen tree took down power lines on Coon Hollow Road around 12:30 p.m.

The disruption caused power issues at both schools and students were released early as a precaution, fire officials said.

Firefighters are currently addressing the issue along with UI crews and members of the Derby Board of Education.
