Fire Department Can Handle New Developments, Says Shelton Fire Chief: Report

Shelton is set to build new projects on Bridgeport Avenue.

SHELTON, CT — Shelton's fire department will be able to handle any added workload as a result of new developments planned for Bridgeport Avenue, says Fire Chief Francis Jones, reports the Shelton Herald.

Jones issued his statement following a letter sent out earlier this month by Fire Captain Justin Sabatino of the city's Pine Rock Volunteer Fire Co. #4, which called for additional funding to handle any increased workload as a result of the new developments.

Among the project planned for the Bridgeport Avenue area are a 96-room hotel and a 411-unit apartment complex and shopping center. Pine Rock has seen an increase in calls, Jones said, due to a change in deployment, but Shelton as a whole has not seen an increase in calls.
