Firefighters Douse Fire At Shelton Bar
The fire at Bar 140 on Center Street in Shelton broke out early Wednesday, according to fire officials.
SHELTON, CT — An early morning fire was doused by firefighters at Bar 140 on Center Street in Shelton, according to authorities.
A tenant in an apartment upstairs reported the fire at about 2:20 a.m. after hearing a fire alarm and smelling smoke.
"Upon arrival of the first fire unit (within 2 minutes of dispatch), smoke was visible from the rear of a 3 story brick building with apartment over a commercial occupancy," Shelton fire officials wrote on Facebook. "A working fire was declared on the 1st floor of the building, which added Company 3 for citywide coverage. Crews from Engine 2 made entry and quickly extinguished the fire. Ladder 51 began ventilation of the upper floors as Ladder 47 assisted with searches."

All occupants in the apartments upstairs got out quickly, and no injuries were reported, authorities said, adding that all the upstairs units remain habitable, and no tenants were displaced.
Twenty-five firefighters were on-scene to extinguish the fire, the cause of which remains under investigation.
