Former Shelton High School Teacher Hits On Student: Cops

The suspect took the female student out to dinner and allegedly made her feel "uncomfortable."

The disorderly conduct court case of former Shelton High School math teacher George Perduta, who allegedly came onto a 17-year-old female student, has been continued.

Perduta, 57, of Kensington, took the student out to dinner in April of last year and allegedly kissed her on the forehead and made overtures that the two of them should go away together, reports the Connecticut Post.

The encounter reportedly made the student feel uncomfortable, according to police.

His attorney, William Wescott, was granted the continuance in court on Wednesday, and the case is scheduled to be back in court on March 7. Perduta was expected to ask the judge for accelerated rehabilitation, a special form of probation.
