General Electric Buys Shelton-Based Company

SHELTON, CT — General Electric recently acquired Shelton-based medical device component company DiSanto Technology, giving GE another site in Connecticut as it moves its headquarters out of the state.

The DiSanto purchase is part of a larger acquisition by GE of DiSanto's parent company, Sweden-based Arcam, reports the Connecticut Post. GE is buying Arcam, in addition to Germany-based SLM Solutions, for a total of $1.4 billion.

Last month, GE formally established its headquarters in Boston, MA, ending more than 40 years in Fairfield. GE will continue to have a presence in Connecticut, with a site in Norwalk.
