Howe Ave. Apartment Building Pitched

A downtown developer is pitching a plan for 56 apartments downtown.

SHELTON, CT — A downtown real estate developer said that multi-family housing developments in other parts of the city could force the development of low-income housing.

Al DaSilva presented a plan to turn 502 Howe Avenue into a five-story building with 56 market-rate apartments, a small bank and a Dunkin Donuts, according to the Shelton Herald.

DaSilva said it wasn't economically feasible to offer some of the apartments as affordable because it would require around 100 units to make it worth the cost of five affordable units.
