Lauretti Campaign Raises $270k+

Shelton Mayor Mark Lauretti raised enough to qualify for Clean Election Program financing.

SHELTON, CT — Shelton Mayor Mark Lauretti announced he surpassed the $250,000 mark to qualify for Clean Elections Program funding.

Lauretti became the fastest candidate in either party who wasn't a sitting governor to qualify. The news was announced at a fundraiser hosted by Naugatuck's Democratic Mayor Pete Hess.

"Mark is a nonpartisan guy who works with Democrats and Republicans, and I think what we have to do in Connecticut is to get that message up to Hartford and elect someone who is bipartisan," Hess said.

Lauretti said his campaign is about inclusion.

"While it is great news to reach the $250,000 qualifying threshold, there is much work that needs to be done," Lauretti said. "I look forward to the next year on the trail and talking to folks about the Shelton success story, to date our campaign has raised over $270,000."
