Man Accused Of Firing Gun At Shelton Bar Arrested: Police

Police said a fight broke out at the bar between several men and four gunshots were fired during the commotion.

SHELTON, CT — A Seymour man accused of firing a gun at a Shelton bar was arrested over the weekend, according to police.

In a news release, Police Det. Richard Bango said a fight between several men broke out at Center Street Social just as the bar was closing on Feb. 11.

Four gunshots were fired during the commotion, however no one was injured, Bango said. The men fled from the bar before police arrived.

After further investigation, police determined Roberto Cales, 32, of Seymour, had fired the gun during the fight, according to Bango. He was arrested Saturday.

Cales was charged with illegal discharge of a firearm, first-degree reckless endangerment and criminal possession of a firearm by a felon. He was released after posting a $200,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court this week.
