Man Stabbed In Neck With Plastic Knife: Shelton Police

SHELTON, CT — A Shelton man accused of stabbing another man in the neck with a plastic knife was arrested Sunday night, according to police.

In a news release, Police Lt. Robert Kozlowsky said officers and EMS were called to a Chamberlain Drive home around 8 p.m. after receiving a report of a stabbing there.

According to Kozlowsky, a 50-year-old man told police he was with a friend when a man entered the home and stabbed him in the neck with some type of plastic knife.

The man, who was brought to a hospital with two neck lacerations, told police he did not know the suspect, however his friend did and was able to identify him, Kozlowsky said.

The suspect, Jeffrey Kershner, 53, of Shelton, turned himself into police later that night, Kozlowsky said. He was charged with first-degree assault and disorderly conduct.

Kershner was held on a $100,000 bond and scheduled to appear in court Monday.
