The members of the Sarah Riggs Humphreys-Mary Silliman Chapter, NSDAR wish everyone a safe and fun-filled Memorial Day. It is also a time to give thanks to those service men and women who are currently serving and who have served our Nation with honor, courage and compassion.

So, when we are enjoying the sunshine at the beach; grilling hot dogs and hamburgers in our backyards; or just hanging out at our friends’ or relatives’ homes, let’s all take a moment to remember the men and women who fought and died for the freedom we enjoy today.

On Sunday, May 28 at 1pm members of the Sarah Riggs Humphreys-Mary Silliman Chapter will be placing flags at the gravestones of Revolutionary War Patriots at the Long Hill Burial Ground, 275 Long Hill Ave., Shelton. This is the oldest cemetery in Shelton with the earliest tombstone dating to 1720. Everyone is invited to come and honor those Revolutionary Patriots on Memorial Day weekend.
