Mystery Surrounds Why Derby Finance Was Placed On Leave: Report

DERBY, CT — Agata Herasimowicz, Derby's finance director for less than a year, was placed on administrative leave earlier this month, but the reason why remains a mystery, reported the Connecticut Post.
Additionally, Angela Gencarelli, the city's deputy finance director resigned this month, just days after Herasimowicz was placed on leave.
City officials have declined to comment on the situation, stressing that it is a personnel matter.

The Valley Independent Sentinel reported that Herasimowicz wrote to officials that she has not been informed of the specific reasons why she was placed on leave, which comes as the city is finalizing its annual budget.
Reportedly, Herasimowicz has only been told she is under investigation for possible violations of Derby's policies and procedures, according to the publications.
