DERBY, CT — Police are asking for the public's help locating a vehicle that struck a pedestrian Thursday night in Derby, leaving them in critical condition.

Police said on Facebook the pedestrian was hit by a vehicle near a railroad crossing on Division Street around 9:30 p.m.

The vehicle, which left the area before police arrived, was likely traveling north on Division Street coming from Pershing Drive, according to police.

An ambulance brought the pedestrian to a hospital, where they remain in critical condition as of Friday morning, police said.
