DERBY, CT — Police said they investigated a concerning Facebook post involving a Derby Public Schools staff member earlier this week, leading to an increase in police presence around schools in town.

In a news release posted to Facebook, Police Sgt. John Netto said Derby Public Schools contacted the department Monday around 10:30 a.m. regarding a Facebook post about a staff member earlier that day.

After investigating the concerning post, officers were able to identify, locate and interview those involved and address the concern, Netto said.

Netto said no further action is being taken, however the department planned to increase police presence around schools in town out of an abundance of caution.
