Services Scheduled for Shelton HS Student Jonathan S. Sabo, Jr., 15

The following obituary of Jonathan S. Sabo, Jr., 15, who died unexpectedly last week, is from the James T. Toohey & Son Funeral Home. Sabo's death remains under investigation, according to Shelton police, who said in a statement that "Detectives do not suspect foul play.":

Jonathan S. Sabo, Jr., age 15 of Shelton, entered into rest September 29, 2016. He was the beloved son of Jonathan S. Sabo, Sr. and Nancy DiCaro Thomson.

Jonathan was born in Bridgeport, February 16, 2001 and was a lifelong Shelton resident. He was a student in his sophomore year at Shelton High School where he was a member of the Shelton High School Marching Band. Jonathan enjoyed working for Fairview Tree Farm in Shelton. He was an avid New Orleans Saints fan and liked fishing, archery, trap shooting, and playing his drums.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brother, Jack Sabo of Shelton; maternal grandparents, Sal DiCaro, Sr. of North Springfield, VT, and Eileen DiCaro of Shelton; paternal grandparents, Lee Sabo of Oxford, and Maureen Sabo of Shelton; his aunt, Laura Motes and her husband Andy and their daughter, his cousin Lela of Barkhamsted; his uncle Sal DiCaro, Jr. of Newport Richey, FL; and his godmother, Sheila Millo of Newtown.

Calling hours will be held Wednesday, Oct. 5, from 4 to 8 PM in the James T. Toohey & Son Funeral Home, 92 Howe Ave., Shelton. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution in his memory to Shelton High School Marching Band, 120 Meadow St., Shelton, CT 06484. “GO GAELS!”
