Shelton Administrator Set To Retire After 38 Years
John Cook, Shelton's Inland Wetlands Administrator, is set to retire after 38 years working for the city.

SHELTON, CT — John Cook, Shelton's Inland Wetlands Administrator, is set to retire after 38 dedicated years working for the city.
According to an announcement on the city's Facebook page, Cook is set to retire Friday. Additionally, Mayor Mark Lauretti has declared Aug. 5, 2022, to be "John R. Cook Day."
On Wednesday, past and current City Hall staff held a celebration for Cook and his family. Videos from the event can be viewed here.

Shelton officials noted Cook began working for the city in December 1984 and "has been a wealth of knowledge for every person he has encountered" since then.
"John, we will sincerely miss you and wish you all the best in retirement," the post reads. "Thank you for your time and dedication to the city and residents of Shelton."
