Shelton Coronavirus Update: First Death Reported
One Shelton man has died from the new coronavirus, the Naugatuck Valley Health District announced on Thursday.
SHELTON, CT — One Shelton man has died from the new coronavirus, the Naugatuck Valley Health District announced on Thursday afternoon. There are 14 confirmed cases of the virus in the town, according to the NVHD.
The man was in his 80s, and tested positive for COVID-19 postmortem.
In the statement announcing the Shelton man's death, Health District officials confirmed the following number of other cases in the area:

On Wednesday, in what was the worst single day of deaths attributed to the virus, Gov. Ned Lamont reported there are 875 confirmed cases, 106 hospitalized and 19 deaths. Fairfield County continues to see the majority of cases with 546 positive results; New Haven County has the second most at 127.
